Reminding the world about the start of full-scale russian invasion in Ukraine, on Feb. 24, 2023 a series of exhibitions dedicated to the consequences of war in a European country in the 21st century will open in Tokyo with support of Japan News media house.

Pixelated Realities PO provided 3D models of the collected exhibits for Museum of UA Victory to Professor Hidenori Watanave for his documentary mapping project. The map will include objects and buildings from Kyiv and Sumy region, Odesa, Kharkiv and Kherson.

On Feb. 24, Prof. Hidenori Watanave of the University of Tokyo’s Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies will demonstrate Liquid Galaxy, which uses a large multi-display system to give visitors a visual experience of the local situation.

The exhibition will include documentary photography and an interactive screen installation, where visitors can view different locations where historical moments of 2022 were imprinted into usual objects, transformed buildings and changed their meaning because of russian war.

Location: Yomiuri Gallery, Yomiuri Shimbun Building 3F, 1-7-1 Otemachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.

The photos are on display through Feb. 28 at the gallery on the third floor of the building in the Otemachi district of Chiyoda Ward. The third-floor gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and closed on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays.

Another exhibit showcasing Ukraine photos by Yomiuri Shimbun photographers will take place from March 17-30 at the Sony Imaging Gallery in the Ginza district of Chuo Ward, Tokyo, featuring 30 photos.

Hello Ukrainians and people all over the world.

I’m very pleased to be collaborating with NGO Pixelated Reality on this project.

Since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, I have been creating digital maps of satellite images and photogrammetry. The purpose is to document the war crimes committed by Russia and the harm done to civilians, to tell the world about them, and to pass on the facts to future generations.

Pixelated Reality’s activity is a war-documentary project on scanning the historical heritage of the Russian war against Ukraine. The amazing data they have collected will be put on a digital map, showing the great cultural heritage that extends throughout Ukraine and how such precious assets of humanity are endangered by the Russian invasion. War takes everything from us. There is no justice in this war.

I hope that our collaboration work will help to build a peaceful world where the whole world can join hands.
