Residential building, Borodyanka

Massive bombing of the town of Borodyanka caused unimaginable destruction of the living districts. The multi-storey residential building on Central Street was damaged by direct air strikes, a whole section of the facade collapsed, burying its inhabitants. It is considered one of the most terrible crimes of the russian army against the civilian population of Ukraine. Opposite the house in the square is a bust of Taras Shevchenko, which was damaged by rocket fragments, including the head of the monument.

This house is also known for a rescue mission of the cat which lived for several weeks in an abandoned flat without the possibility to find exit.

In November 2022, on the wall of the first floor, after the clearance of the debris that lasted for several months, the famous anonymous artist Banksy left one of his graffiti, depicting a gymnast performing an exercise, leaning on the ruins of the house.
