“The Russians hunted him, but did not destroy him”

This year, the 300th anniversary of the outstanding Ukrainian philosopher-traveler acquired even greater symbolism, because his sculptural portraits and statues survived among the ruins of the museum and university. The white silhouette of the philosopher among the ashes and burning is a new symbol of Ukrainian culture.

On April 7, a rocket hit the H.S. Skovoroda National Literary and Memorial Museum, completely destroying the building. Currently, it is known that the old building can be restored. Among the needs – a temporary roof is needed to prevent the destruction of the house due to climatic factors.
