Central Palace of Marriages, Kherson

Central Palace of Marriages, Kherson

Kherson public library was built from 1896 to 1897. Odesa architects Mykola Tolvinsky and Felix Gonsiorovsky built the building in the neoclassical style with facades in the Ionic order and a portico with four columns in the Corinthian order. During the Soviet times, namely in 1987, the library was moved, and now the Kherson RACS (Marriage Palace) is located in the premises.

On November 11, 2022, after 256 days of Russian occupation, the city was liberated. The expedition was carried out after the de-occupation of Kherson. Due to the proximity of the historical part of the city to the Russian positions on the other side of the Dnieper, during the filming there was a constant threat of shelling from MLRS. Each building in Kherson during the expedition was surveyed for 20-30 minutes, after which the operator and crew changed locations. Filming was done with a drone and a camera from the ground.
